RAW MATERIAL - CHARACTERISTICS

Material Properties

The aluplast PVC-U compound is an ‘impact modified’ unplasticised rigid PVC extrusion compound having high impact strength complying with BS7413:1991.

Impact Strength

Profiles extruded from aluplast PVC-U compound are outstanding for their resistance to fracturing, which is particularly evident at temperatures below 0°C.

Weather Resistance and Colour Stability

aluplast PVC-U profiles have outstanding weather resistance and colour stability. These important characteristics have been confirmed by more than twenty five years of actual use.

aluplast PVC-U profiles also possess high resistance to the various pollutant effects of an industrial atmosphere.

Thermal Performance

aluplast PVC-U windows exceed the current requirements of the Building Regulations concerning minimum U values.

Processability

aluplast PVC-U compound is designed specifically for window profile extrusion, to be ‘manufacture friendly’ and ideally suited to the heat welding process.

Flame Resistance

aluplast PVC-U compound is flame resistant in accordance with BS476: Pt6&7. The formulation guarantees flame resistance without the necessity for further additives and results in the material being defined as ‘self-extinguishing’.
